Commission prefers drug program funds for inmates

CARLSBAD — Rather than spend $1.198 million in legislative funding to build a new regional drug rehabilitation center, the Eddy County Commission believes that using the funds for drug treatment programs for inmates in the county detention center would be money better spent.
